What you can expect from us

Mentors
- Training by Garden Organic staff in organic gardening methods and information support lists for when working in the field.
- Training on how to work with community members, establishing a constituted community-growing group.
- Continued support for you and your OFfA group.
- An OFfA manual to supplement your training and containing additional information about organic gardening plant facts, information about your area, useful contacts and (supplementary) information and fund-raising.
- Horticultural advise and answers to your questions on fruit and vegetable growing.
- A quarterly newsletter with ideas, advice and interesting information.
- A selection of seeds for you and your growers to sow.
- Access to second-hand, renovated tools for your growing group.
- Further training available annually
if required.
Growers
- A trained mentor to help you to grow a selection of fruit and vegetables using organic methods.
- An opportunity to get to know and work with people in your community.
- A chance to learn how to make best use of your space whether on a balcony, doorstep or alleyway.
- Horticultural advise and answers to your questions on fruit and vegetable growing.
- A selection of seeds for you to sow.
- Details of the second hand tool pool for free hand tools.
What we will expect from you
Mentors
- To feed back to OFfA staff on how the project is going on a monthly basis.
- To work with your growers for four hours per week (on average) for at least one growing season.
Growers
- To attend the training sessions run by your mentor.
- To grow, harvest and eat fresh, organic fruit and vegetables.
- To agree to participate in the project for a minimum of one growing season.
- To tell others in your community about us and your good experiences with us.
